A father, with his five year old daughter following behind, walks pass my car towards their own. I have my window open and hear their words:

“This way, little one”

“Okay daddy”

“Ria”

“Yes, Daddy?”

“I love you”

“I love you too daddy”

My body softens and I smile, a real, authentic, smile as I watch the father open his car door and lift his daughter into her seat. That is it. That is all we need to do. To be present with the littles ones and everyone around us.
